The Meadow

I thought I would take a walk today
in woods and hills along the way
by the trees with mistletoe dressing
all the while the wind kept pressing

The meadow, where deer take their fill
is home to a pond where the river spills
In all directions the torrent roared
As I sat and wrote upon the shore
