A Day Off

Sometimes you need time away
For yourself; or for others
So we unplug, log out, shutdown
For another, a little for you

Almost impossible goals, really
Work demands, then it’s friends
The addiction is strong and rules
Are we so dedicated or just fools

I might miss a post, or worse; a like
When your post was faked to begin
every reaction is also fake from, wait
another fake person. Why do we care?

I prefer to take walks, look at the sky
to smile, greet another as they pass by
I draw and paint, or just think things
On these days I need nothing more.
