Falling Upwards

In the beginning we sought
Riches and control out there
In money and things we bought
But the taste was bitter
Yet the world never cared

The fear of losing consumed
In struggles with every thought
Noticing the flaws very soon Falling teaching the lesson

The first half of life we gather
The second half is releasing
In peace with the hunger ceasing
Giving back what was borrowed
