Still With Us

The clock ticks down the waning year
The past two gone but not the fear
Huddled masses with heads hung low
Memories of the lost and ones they know

A changing world from what was before
Endings abound some choose to ignore
Shuffling steps we still move along
Bearing the burden of those who are gone
