How This Ends

I once saw a watchful eye
Cast a shadow with it’s gaze
I froze along with time
Knowing it would ruin by design

I spoke without a breath
The echoing ones I laid to rest
I untied each and every knot
Quietly abandoning what I sought

Only fools could live this way
Only cowards can accept
No matter how this plays
We’ll reach the end of our days
